thomas sadoski-2Sadoski began his stage career, which was a winner of awards, as an understudy to Mark Ruffalo and Mark Rosenthal in the Off-Broadway production of Kenneth Lonergan's critically acclaimed play This is Our Youth at the Second Stage Theatre. This production marked the beginning of many productions for the New York-based theatre company. He has been in numerous Off-Broadway and Broadway productions, as being in productions at regional theatres. Together with Alison Pill, he played the role of Greg in Neil LaBute's 2008 play Reasons to be Beautiful at MCC Theatre. It was a highly acclaimed Off-Broadway performance which sold to the max. In April of 2009, the play moved to Broadway where it was awarded three Tony Award nominations: Best actor: Sadoski; Best Actress: Marin Ireland; Best Play and three Drama Desk Award nominations: Best Actor, Best Director, Terry Kinney and Best actor. Six. Neil LaBute credited Sadoski with the shift in tone of Reasons to Be Pretty in comparison to earlier works. He stated: "His thoughtfulness and good heart allowed him to not fall back upon anything that I've previously produced." My plays always end in a dark place. He helped me recognize different colors within the color palette. I was of the opinion that that was true of real life. He was the first Trip Wyeth character in Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities, for which he was awarded an Obie Award (and a Lucille Lortel Award). After a sell-out Off-Broadway performance in November of 2011 The play was then transferred to Broadway and was awarded the award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Performance by the Outer Critics Circle. Sadoski, Ben Stiller, Edie Failco Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alison Pill and Alison Pill were also seen on Broadway in John Guare's House of Blue Leaves.
