Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 the 28th of October, 1967. Roberts is the fourth Roberts generation living in Atlanta from her grandfather who was a farmer, John Pendleton Roberts. Her father was enthusiastic about theatre at an early stage. While a student at Emory University he appeared in numerous productions on and off the campus. Following his air force service In 1953, he starred in an air force production in Biloxi with Betty Lou Bredemus. The two married in 1955, and their first son Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University at New Orleans, Louisiana in 1957 after the couple left the Air Force of the United States. Walter was hired by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the television show Bum Bum His Buddies. The show was filmed in Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou financed their own production of a local Sunday morning show for children, Bum Bum and His Buddies. Later that year they founded the Actors and Writers Workshop which operated for a period of six years. Lelisa Billingsley often referred to as Lisa, was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
