Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English performer and songwriter, was born in London, on 22 August 1995. After having worked as a model her decision was to join Warner Bros Records and release her first album. It peaked at number three in the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles including Be the One I.D.G.A.F and New Rules, the U.K. number-one single New Rules which peaked at Six in United States. Lipa received an award at the Brit Awards in 2018 as a British Female Solo Artist as well as British Breakthrough Act. Her album was certified platinum throughout the world. Dua Lipa was is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London on August 22, 1995. She is the maternal grandmother of Bosnian. There is also a trace of Lipa's ancestors from Peja within Kosovo. Her grandparents were historians as well. The siblings of Lipa are Rina and Gjin. Lipa was heavily influenced by music through her father, the guitar player and lead singer of Oda, the Kosovan rock band Oda. At home her father continued to perform music, including personal compositions and songs composed by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at the age of six years old. In the year she turned nine years old, she began to sing at her school, the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has covered If I Don't Have You and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera on YouTube. Lipa was approached for an recording deal by Warner Bros. Records in 2014. The singer released her debut single New Love in August of 2015.
